Mitzi Barmatz, MD

Dr. Barmatz received her medical degree from the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and was the first female to complete the urology residency program at the University of Arizona. She has been in private practice since 1996, providing general urologic care with an emphasis on urogynecology. Dr. Barmatz has trained urology residents from the University of Arizona, has held numerous positions at Northwest Medical Center, including chief of surgery and chief of staff, and has served on its board of trustees. She was the president of her single-specialty urology group for over 10 years and of the Arizona Urological Society. 

Dr. Barmatz is board-certified with the American Board of Urology and specializes in Pelvic Floor Reconstructive Surgery, Female Incontinence Surgery & DaVinci Robotic Surgery.  Dr. Barmatz joined the Center for Neurosciences in August 2026.
